Community Outreach and Project Development Director
Dr. Kwabena (Kobby) Boateng
Dr. Kwabena (Kobby) Boateng was appointed Community Outreach and Project Development Director for the Missouri Coalition for Oral Health in August 2026. He brings experience in dentistry, public health, research, community outreach, and program development, with a passion for improving access to oral health education and services across Missouri.
Dr. Boateng previously worked with non-profit organizations in Missouri, including as a volunteer Program and Research Coordinator with Oral Health Program and as a volunteer with Smiles of Hope in Fenton. He also helped develop a youth-focused HIV awareness initiative in St. Louis, supporting the formation of partnerships with organizations serving local youth. In Ghana, he also worked with non-profit organizations focused on improving community health and development.
Dr. Boateng earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Ghana Dental School and practiced as a general dentist in Ghana for three years. He later earned a Master of Public Health from Washington University in St. Louis, where he also received leadership training through the prestigious McDonnell International Scholars Academy. His public health training further developed his experience in conducting and applying research and using evidence-based approaches to improving population health.
In his role with the Missouri Coalition for Oral Health, Dr. Boateng is committed to strengthening statewide partnerships with local and regional organizations, implementing various community outreach activities, and expanding the advocacy capacity of members through education and innovative initiatives to help ensure that Missourians have greater access to oral healthcare education and services.
Dr. Boateng lives in St. Louis with his wife. Outside of work, he enjoys playing soccer and working out at the gym, and he serves as a guitarist at One Family Church in St. Louis.
