Did You Know?
1 in 8 Missourians rely on Medicaid for dental care.
Meeting the need in Southeastern, Missouri is Dr. Chloe Stuck, DDS and her colleagues at Four Rivers Community Health Center. The Medicaid reimbursement rate increase has helped them cover the expense of oral surgery and sedation.
“The rate increase has been a huge asset - especially for Four Rivers because we primarily see Medicaid patients, and especially in the oral surgery and sedation spheres. That has helped us see a lot more patients and make it profitable and helpful for our clinic.”

See which sedation codes apply for your patients. Visit the Dental Medicaid Provider Manual to find the procedure codes, then check the Fee Schedule for reimbursements under Dental Services.
You can still get paid for work that you’ve already done. Providers can submit claims for reimbursement up to 12 months beyond the date of service for MO HealthNet patients. And if past claims get denied for error, providers have up to 24 months from the date of service to correct and re-file with MO HealthNet.
Dr. Lisa M. Bosch, DDS, with Knox County Dental, enjoys the increase in business and the timely pay. Retroactive reimbursements have even allowed her to request additional payments for procedures that were billed prior to the rate increase.
“I would say the number one benefit is my chair is always full. There’s no empty chair time. And the second thing would be that I get paid right away... When there’s been a rate increase, I have been back dated to when that increase took effect and gotten big checks.”
