Karen Louise Davis, MSDH, BSDH, RDH, At-Large

Karen Louise Brungardt-Davis, MSDH, BSDH, RDH is a proud alumna of the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry (UMKC-SOD), first earning her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene in 2001, then a master’s degree in dental hygiene education in 2019.

During her over 20-year career in Dental Hygiene she has filled the roles of private practice clinician, researcher, author, educator, motivational speaker, and business owner. She was awarded first place for her graduate research at the American Dental Hygienists’ Association  Annual Session Conference in 2019 and was published in the Journal of Dental Hygiene in 2020. 

Currently she is a full-time professor at UMKC-SOD in the Division of Dental Hygiene where she is the course director for Dental Morphology and Occlusion and Seminar I. She also serves on the Interprofessional Education, Quality Assurance, and Budget and Finance committees.

Beyond her roles at the dental school, she is passionate about helping the underserved get access to care and advancing the profession of dental hygiene. She is currently President of the Missouri Dental Hygienists’ Association and has volunteered her time through Special Olympics and International mission trips.
